Welcome to the first edition of Knit Stars News, exclusively for Knit Stars members. We asked our Knit Stars, what do you have going on this summer? Any behind-the-scenes pics or sneak previews you can share? What's on your needles?

A couple of the Stars even offered up some exclusive discounts :)

Enjoy!

Lucy Neatby, Knit Stars 4.0 (@lucyknit)

"Coming up very soon will be launch of my latest DK blanket - The Pyramid DK Blanket. This pattern will come complete with 15 technique video links! The pattern is in its final tech editing stages now. It will be available on my website LucyNeatby.com or Rav," Lucy said.

"I’m also busy working away on my Knit Stars project - using some wonderful South American-inspired colours and using many of the class techniques. It will be fun knit and mini workshop in itself."

Martha Wissing, Knit Stars 4.0 (@marthawissing_designs)

"I’ve been having a lot of fun designing cowls that are fun to knit and can be worn multiple ways," Martha said.

"The cowls can be styled like a triangle shawl, worn bandana style or to one shoulder. Bonus – it stays on! No fuss!

I’ve published two on Ravelry so far - Eurasian Cowl and Red Yucca Cowl.

"I am excited about working on my new book, but also about getting away to the Wing and a Prayer farm for New England Fiber Summit in August! Tammy is a former Knit Star and I believe several of the other teachers are, too. I'll be sharing sneak peeks of my book at the event including the patterns underway (and their inspirations)," Hannah said.

Mary Jane Mucklestone, Knit Stars 3.0 (@mjmucklestone)

"I've got a couple of Fair Isle designs now available as individual patterns: Oorik [Oorik Tank Top], a baby and toddler Fair Isle vest which includes steeking instructions. Originally published in A Year of Techniques by Jen Arnall-Culliford. And Krunet Cap [Krunet Cap] a graphic Fair Isle hat that uses just two colors. Originally published in Making Magazine No.6. Both are great small projects for summer knitting," Mary Jane said.

"The future? I might just be working on a wee book project slated for this fall or winter so stay tuned! I'll keep my newsletter subscribers up to date, so sign up:

As for what's on my needles right now...I was just out on Nash Island for the annual shearing. Since it had rained the night before we had to wait for the sheep to dry off before they could be sheared. I'm knitting with last year's fleeces, making cuffs for darling mitts that are in my new book. The color I chose was Clear Skies and I'm convinced that's why the sun came out!"

Susan B. Anderson, Knit Stars 4.0 (@susanbanderson)

"I just released a new pattern for a fantastic new toy knit called Oliver Pig, worked from the top-down and seamlessly and clothes included," Susan said.

"On my needles... I am working away on my Newleaf Sweater, designed by Jenn Steingass, using the Newleaf Sweater Kit from my company, Barrett Wool Co. in our Wisconsin Woolen Spun yarn. Kits are available in our kit shop right here if interested:

"What's on my needles right now? Strangely enough, I am making an argyle sweater."

Amy Palmer, Berroco (partner of Amano Yarns, Knit Stars 4.0) (@berrocoyarn)

"We’re excited (and swamped) by the brand new Berroco pattern booklets that are going to come out in the next few weeks, featuring six brand new yarns! Our Berroco KnitBits subscribers will be getting a first look at that, so anyone who wants to subscribe to see what’s new from Berroco before anyone else can do so at knitbits newsletter ," Amy said.

"KnitBits subscribers also get first looks at our free patterns, as well as helpful tips and tricks, every week—just this week, we shared the last of our new spring line, Berroco Estiva, featuring the free pattern Iras (Iras)."

Amy Small, Knit Stars 1.0 (@knitcollage)

"I'm most excited about a new spring/summer pattern launching in mid-June called the Beachy Cardi! I'm planning to kit this on knitcollage.com so we'll have some really pretty options available," Amy said.

Andrea Rangle, Knit Stars 3.0 (@andrearangelknits)
